Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us, “our” and "Crook and Staple" refer to Matthew Petrie trading as Crook and Staple. This website is operated by Crook and Staple. Crook and Staple offers this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.
By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms & Conditions”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content and who may be referred to by any of these terms and "you".
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services. Online Store Terms

The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.
We will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is in our power to do so, to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but in the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from the website.
"Item" means a product or service on sale on crookandstaple.com. "Product Description" means that part of the website where product specific terms and conditions are provided. "We", "Us" and "Our" means Crook and Staple.
Making a Contract with Us
When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received your order. This is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from crookandstaple.com. When we dispatch your order from our warehouse we will send you a dispatch confirmation email.
Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will occur on the dispatch email notification to you of the item(s) ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order, or you have canceled it in accordance with the instructions in 'Change or Cancel an order'.
In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing error, we will advise you of this. You will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.
Order and Returns Information
Please note that the delivery times that we include are to the best of our knowledge accurate however on occasions delivery may take longer due to factors out of our control such as the time your countries customs may take to process an order. Whilst an order is in transit from Crook and Staple to the customer we cannot refund or cancel the order.
All delivery services will aim to deliver orders to the shipping address specified upon placing an order, however, if the delivery service is unable to deliver the order to this address for any reason, at the delivery service's discretion, they may deliver the parcel to another location such as to a neighbor, safe place or hold the parcel for collection by the customer.
Orders will not be deemed as lost in the post until unless at least 10 working days (Monday to Friday)* for items posted to the UK or 25 working days (Monday to Friday)* for items to the rest of the world have passed from the due delivery date.
*if the order is placed or sent around a major holiday or event (i.e. Easter, Christmas, New Year, etc.) or whilst there is severe weather or natural disaster an additional 5 working days (Monday to Friday) will need to pass before the order is deemed lost in the post. In the event of Force Majeure orders may be in transit for greatly extended periods and may not be deemed lost in the post for the period of the Force Majeure. Where there is a delay in the postal network that may impact an order we may reasonably deem an order to not be lost in the post for up to an additional 15 working days in addition to any other periods defined above.

Some products on our website have a subscription option, usually referred to as 'Subscribe & Save'. If you select this subscription option you will need to use the dropdown above the add to cart button to decide how often we will automatically create and take payment for a new order for you on a reoccurring basis. In exchange for your regular orders we provide you with a discount off those particular subscription products.
When you select the subscription option on a product the 'Add to cart' buttons text will change to 'Add Subscription to Cart' and in most cases an informational popup will be provided however this is not guaranteed functionality due to some browsers not supporting this technology.
By selecting the subscription option service you are aware that we will create and take payment for new orders automatically for you, on a reoccurring frequency, that you chose on the product page.
Please note that as subscription orders provide an already discounted price and as such you can not use an additional discount or discount code in conjunction with a subscription order.
Subscriptions may only be cancelled after the second order has been dispatched. If you wish to cancel a subscription order prior to this we will refund any monies for non-despatched items minus the initial orders discount amount and a processing fee of £5 (or local currency equivalent).

Discounts & Products on Sale
If a product is listed with a reduced sale price or if a subscription product is selected no discount codes can be used in conjunction with these offers.
Only one discount code or discount may be applied per order.
When a refund is requested and approved by us, it will take up to 10 working days from the time that the refund was initiated by us for the money to reach your account. This is due to the time that the banks and card processors take to process refunds.
Whilst an order is in transit from ourselves, Crook and Staple, to the customer we cannot refund or cancel the order.
Please see our ‘Delivery Info’ section for information on delivery charges. If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly, so that we can make a claim against the carriers. We will offer you the choice of a replacement or a full refund.

Product Stock Levels
When the customer places an order at this website, crookandstaple.com, they are able to see what stock we have for each product. You can view this by navigating to the products individual page and looking on the right or the page above the 'Add to Cart' button where it will say the current stock level in large green writing. If the website says the stock level is 'Special Order. Usually despatched within 2 weeks' this means that the product is out of stock and that it will usually be dispatched withing 2 weeks. We do not send emails to customers to alert them of products in their order that are out of stock as it is assumed that the customer has seen the stock level on the product page. When the customer places an order with Crook and Staple they agree that they have seen the stock level on the product page.
Description of Products
Each item purchased is subject to its item description which outlines additional specific conditions to that item including, without limitation, terms and conditions relating to warranties, after sales service, guarantees, product availability and educational eligibility. We aim to display the colours of items on crookandstaple.com accurately, however we cannot guarantee that your monitors display of any colour, will accurately reflect the colour of the item(s) on delivery. Some of our products are made from wood and may have slight natural colouring variations from the photos on the website, this is to be expected as wood is a natural material.
We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all the information and prices of items on crookandstaple.com are correct at the time when entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep crookandstaple.com as up to date as possible, the information including item descriptions may not reflect the position exactly when you place your order. We cannot confirm the price of an item until your order has been accepted in accordance with our order acceptance policy, as outlined above in the ‘Making a contract with us’ section.
