Winfield Standard 'u' scrape Cor Anglais Reed

Half a tone flat

Reed plays well, but is at least 6mm longer than my normal reeds, so is half a tone flat. Will have to try shortening and re-scraping.

One reed was really good and one was OKish. Reeds are always a bit hit and miss!

excellent responsive cor reeds received promptly. Medium hardness allowed me to apply final scrape to my personal taste. All good.

New Cor reed

Just received my latest Cor Anglais reed from you..so far it is great to play on though I haven't really played it in yet. It arrived very promptly, so delighted with your excellent service as always.

Spare the knife

Using a flat metal plaque can blunt your knife and also cause the reed to break because it is too flat. The convex ebony plaque solves both problems.

Have tried it a couple of times. Appears to do exactly what it claims - is very comfortable, easy to assemble and takes some of the strain off my thumb, hand and wrist, without getting in the way.
